Avent West YourRaleigh neighborhoods
Avent West is located near NC State University and is known for its active neighborhood association, schools and convenient location. Most of the homes were built in the 60's and 70's, and many have been remodeled. The lots are generally around a half acre, which is significantly larger than newer neighborhoods.
A.B. Combs Leadership Elementary School, the top magnet school in the nation for 2005, is within walking distance. Lake Johnson City Park and swimming pool are also nearby. Many faculty and staff from NC State University are drawn to the neighborhood because of the close proxemity to the University.
